The Blood Orange of the Baskervilles

UPDATE: Now in shining Technicolor-y goodness!

I’ve been a fan of Sherlock Holmes since I was a girl, and I imagine the Little Vampires would be fans as well. Their innate curiosity would make a good mystery very appealing to them.

Though a fan of the classic film and TV interpretations of Holmes, I also loved the new Sherlock Holmes movie. I do love a good reinterpretation of archetypal characters, what can I say?

This strip was inspired by two classic Sherlock Holmes movie posters. It was colored, but right before posting my file corrupted itself into oblivion. How? Why? That’s another mystery. I am not one to give up, however, and will be posting a colored version as soon as I’m able. Until then, feel free to break out the crayons and have a go for yourself.

I’d love to hear what classic movie posters you would like to see Little Vampirized. I really enjoyed doing this particular piece, and envision the Little Vampires and their friends loving movies. I’d love to put them into more movie posters, so tell me what you’d like to see!

LOVE this! And love the idea, so I must steal it.

I suggest the original Star Wars movie poster, and the original JAWS movie poster. Those two always come to mind when I think of movie ad art.

This is so cute! I would love to see the little vampires and friends recreate Clark Cable & Vivian Leigh….my favorite movie of all time…Gone with the Wind. Oh, my second movie is E.T.!

    Rocky Horror Picture Show….omg

Terrific. And saw the Sherlock movie last night. It was not exactly what I expected (the previews actually had me thinking I was in for Raiders of the Lost Arc type action) – but good none-the-less.

And as for poster ideas — the classic Star Wars poster jumped to my mind immediately for some reason.

    ‘nite!

Too fun! I think one could do something with the vampires and The Beatles….they already have the early haircuts(before the sitars and the heavy drugs)…A Hard Day’s Night? A band of vampires? Although the vampire that has trouble with the piano probably shouldn’t be in the band…maybe he can be a manager…Ten Little Vampires(ala Agatha Christie) keeping with the mystery genre….Mr. Majestik(Charles Bronson movie where the villains shoot up his watermelons…substitute blood oranges…).
