New Year, Same Crazy

Enjoy the Little Vampires Webcomic! New joy every Wednesday!

Happy New Year to all you Lunatics! Here’s the latest news from the coal-dusted depths of Lunasea Studios.

SacAnime appearance cancellation

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but we won’t be able to make it to SacAnime this January. It is one of our favorite shows to attend, and we have so much love for our NorCal fans and friends, but cat and family health issues are keeping us in San Diego. I can’t even begin to express how sorry James and I are about this cancellation. Continue reading to learn how we’re going to do our best to make it up to you Lunatics.

If you were planning on attending, please continue to do so! Supporting shows like SacAnime means they’ll continue to run, which means we’ll continue to attend them when we can. So go forth and SacAnimate! Be sure to say hello to my bud Searnold while you’re there. He will be manning the table we would have been at, and he’ll be manning it with super awesomeness.

My Own Personal Ninja, I humbly request that you guard Searnold and bestow upon him Ninja wishes of prosperity. Princess Mononoke, Steampunk Goddesses, and Brother and Sister Super Sound Effect Duo, I expect you to assist Ninja in his duties. Domo arigatou gozaimasu. *bow*

It’s the “We’re Sorry We Can’t Make it to SacAnime” sale!

I’ve already received e-mails from Lunatics saying they were looking forward to buying a T-shirt or a Little Vampire Plush Doll at Sacanime. We don’t want our cancellation to keep you from getting your happy on, so we’re offering FREE SHIPPING on all items in the Lunasea Studios store! The sale will run from January 5 through January 11. Enter discount code SACANIME when checking out to get free shipping.

It will be just like buying it at SacAnime, except you won’t have to put up with talking to me and James.

You don’t have to live in Sacramento to take advantage of this sale, of course. We’ve spent quite a bit of time updating the store to make it more user friendly for all the lovely Lunatics around the world. Please e-mail if you have any trouble ordering, and let us know what’s gumming up the works. We want you to be able to give us money. It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Thanks for your understanding, all!

Webcomic! APE Report!

Little Vampires Webcomic!

It’s finally here! The Little Vampires and their friends will be appearing in a weekly webcomic at the newly updated Little Vampires site. Be sure to visit each Wednesday to say hello.

APE Con Report
APE in mid-October was like a family reunion, if the family was the kind with naughty secret handshakes and a strong belief that Iron Maiden and Daft Punk music mash-ups are great ideas.

We got to see some familiar fan faces, like Paul. He was nice enough to rock the runway in one of our shirts. Fierce!

Alina Pete of Weregeek and Moosehead Stew fame taught us a lot about Canadian accents while knoshing with us at Sam’s Diner. Nick and Angela of Think Weasel were awesome enough to help us get a quirky cool hotel room at the Good Hotel. The five of us invaded the Cartoon Art Museum APE party, where we studied the line work of classic cartoonists, danced with a guy in a gorilla suit, and drew each other’s characters on our hands and arms.

This is Alina’s take on my Little Vampires. Good thing Alina’s so cool, ’cause otherwise I’d hate her for drawing my character better than I do. *shakes fist northward*

It felt like everyone else we knew from the crazy creative community was exhibiting at APE again this year. Monster CommuteBinary Winter PressEmonicBen Walker, and Kid Beowulf were nearby to warm our hearts with their awesome heart warmyness. Our friend Woody had his first table and had great success with his Between Mars work. And we got to talk shop with artist Joenis Norac, who is now yet another purveyor of heart warmy creative community building.

Erin Milligan of the Timothy Green webcomic drew some Little Vampires fan art, moving me from warm heart to full-on SQUEE!
